Are you one of the millions of Americans who either have no health insurance or are underinsured? This is a pretty volatile subject. It’s been an ongoing problem for some time. During these tough economic times it’s even worse.

It’s a pretty sad testament to what is supposed to be the wealthiest country on earth that we have children and senior citizens who have no health insurance.

We talk about people living lives of quiet desperation. That describes a huge percentage of us who have no health insurance and live day to day hoping and praying that we don’t become ill.

That doesn’t even begin to include the numbers of us who need medications that we can’t afford to buy. These medications may not necessarily be life-saving but can help prevent more serious complications.

There are families who do without necessities in order to buy antibiotics for a sick child. The very thought of catastrophic illness is like a cloud of doom that is never far from our thoughts.
